Carmel
We have been doing landscaping in Carmel for more than 10 years. We design and build redwood arbors, entry and shade garden arbors, as well as privacy trellises.
FYI: A pergola or arbor is a garden feature forming a shaded walk or passageway of pillars that support cross-beams and a sturdy open lattice, upon which woody vines are trained. As a type of gazebo, it may also be an extension of a building, or serve as protection for an open terrace or a link between pavilions. Freestanding pergolas provide a sitting area that allows for breeze and light sun, but offers protection from the harsh glare of direct sunlight. Pergolas also give climbing plants a structure to grow on. Modern pergola designs of wood rather than brick or stone pillars are more affordable and are increasing in popularity. Generally, pergolas are either made from a weather-resistant wood, such as Western Redcedar or Coast Redwood, or are painted or stained.
FYI: A garden trellis is a structure used to support plants, either by tying the plants to the trellis or by allowing climbers to bind themselves to the structure. A trellis can be made of horizontal, vertical or diagonal bars, usually spaced and arranged to form a decorative structure. The materials can be wood (either hardwood or treated softwood), metal (e.g. galvanized iron) or plastic.
